On the Dirty Side this week…

Ah, where to begin?

Japan is such a great circuit and we both love it. In fact we went to town on singing it’s praises in our Japanese GP preview last week.

And what did Japan go and do?

Yup, let us down with one of the worst grand prix for us to cover since we started this pod around 4 years ago.

Worst for us in terms of there being literally nothing to cover.

Usually covering a race on the pod is a process of us deciding which bits to keep in and which discussion points to go to town on where we either really agree with each other and want to discuss, or where we just want to let you hear us argue.

Even a bad race usually has some spicy moments for us to focus in on, or a bad strategy, or a mistake, or a crash, or something of any note what so ever.

Somehow Japan managed to avoid every single possible talking point resulting in the only talking point being about just how bad it was.

There were no yellow flags, no real lunges from anyone to try an overtake, no retirements, no “almost” moments, no anything. The only real overtakes were really done due to pit stop re-shuffles.

Have to be honest, our favorite thing was either Pit lane Paul’s view on the race, or winding forward to preview Bahrain and make our next Casino picks!

Still made for a unique episode even if we hope to not have to repeat it any time soon!

As per last weeks newsletter we saw the new liveries for Haas & Red Bull on track in Japan

Lewis went bowling with the team and seems to be pretty good compared to most on the team

In a bid to reduce the number of Safety Cars and/or Red Flags the FIA have introduced a map for each race to show drivers the best place to park up which will result in quicker clearing of the car by race marshals

That was all we found - not much to report!
