Rob & Brian chat with Rob Reed and then get up to reverse track shenanigans

On the Dirty Side this week…
Every now and again we are fortunate enough to get a guest come on the pod. Sometimes those folk end up being happy to do repeat visits.
Well that’s the case this week as Rob Reed comes on to chat to us again.
He’s just dropped an article on Forbes about the season so far and in it he also made some predictions for the rest of the season.
The article is here:
We felt is was only natural to go over this with him and see where we agreed and where we needed to challenge Mr Reed.
After that it was random segment time again and we’ll dig into that a little more at the end of this weeks newsletter.
Finally we take a look ahead to Miami as we’ll be back in the USA for racing again this week. We’re looking forward to which celebrities will be spotted over the course of the weekend and of course whether they all get named correctly. It’s a rare afternoon race here in the US so there may even be a beer or two consumed while watching it.
News & Social in a nutshell
These are the main stories we covered this week but obviously you need to listen to the episode to hear what our thoughts were on them all
Chris Medland confirmed that GM will become an official power unit supplier starting in 2029. The Cadillac team will use a Ferrari engine until then
FIA document confirmed that Max’s penalty was a five second penalty not the usual ten due to it being a first lap incident
F1 Academy’s Netflix series F1: The Academy is set to launch globally on 28 May 2025, produced by Hello Sunshine, actor Reese Witherspoon’s production company
Brian’s Video Vault
What’s in the vault this week?
Saudi Arabian GP 2025 | Highlights | Comedy on F1 racing. Lollipopman. 7 mins. Especially like the Fernando/Gabi discussion and the Charles camera close-ups / radio with Brian and the return of Dr. Valtteri…
Inside Piastri & Verstappen's Tense Turn One Battle! | Jolyon Palmer’s F1 TV Analysis. F1 Channel. 8 mins. This was fine until he brought data and charts at the end and then wow - not just comparing Oscar and Max’s turn 1 telemetry, but then looking at Max’s Q3 T1 - NO WAY he was making that corner.
Aston Martin Aramco X The Rolling Stones. Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team channel - one minute. NO IDEA what this was. An advert for a t-shirt? what is the tie-in to the Rolling Stones?
