Rob & Brian review Imola and preview Monaco

On the Dirty Side this week…
Sometimes on the Dirty Side we don’t quite see things as maybe everyone else.
But that’s OK as we’re self-proclaimed bozos sitting on virtual bar stools chatting F1 as we see it.
This week we were not sure how good (or bad) the Imola GP was but online it seemed everyone loved it and is holding it up as a reason why the iconic circuit should remain on the calendar.
Well, we’re not so sure about that but then again we’ll just refer you to paragraph two above.
So we have our take on Imola for you to check out and see if you agree as well as then pivoting towards the Monaco predictions.
As the week has unfolded a bit it seems the mandated two stopper may not work as we hoped given it seems red flags will count.
The regulation wording is not actually saying you must have two pit-stops, it’s saying you must use three sets of tires and within that three you must adhere to the current rule of running two different compounds if it is a dry race.
This means that if we get a turn 1 red flag, and teams change tires, this will count as one of the tire changes meaning teams can go back to a one stopper.
Given how high the chances are of a red flag in Monaco this means if we got another red flag at a restart we’d be back to last years farce of a no-stopper.
Please can we all pray to the F1 gods that we go red flag free and that any crashes just need VSC or SC to resolve!
Oh, and check out the “in the marbles” section below for the Sap lap of Monaco!
